Hi folks. I thought I would like to share with you all a recent purchase from E-Bay a couple of days ago. It's a Hamilton 3992B as you can all see. She has matching perfect blued hands, no hairlines on the dial and the case is without any dents with matching serial numbers. Both sides screw on and off smoothly. She keeps to within a second or two over a 24 hour period. I purchased it in the UK for £400, which was the starting price and I was the only bidder. Please see 264212574945. For some reason, the seller only described it as a Hamilton 1942 Military Pocket Watch and would only send to within the UK. I am delighted, she's beautiful.

Stephen: Very nice find. I recently had the pleasure of repairing one like it. Also from England. It was purchased with a broken staff and Mainspring. It was very nice to work on and ran beautifully post repair. He told me he paid 100 pounds for it. Incredable bargin for such a nice watch. Hope you enjoy yours, John

It's a great feeling to find a watch like this in such great condition. This one looks fresh from the factory. Looks like it has had a easy peaceful life compared to many of it's siblings! And a very low production number. Nice catch! ©harles

Thanks Jim and Charles for your very kind comments.

It is in very nice condition - congratulations on giving it a good home in your collection! The HS 3 (Hydrographic Service) on the back shows that it originally started out as a Deck Watch, but that it was repurposed after the war by striking out the HS grade 3 of the movement and the new numbers on top of the original manufacturer's part number are NATO numbers. Did you get its wooden box that it would have been cased in with the watch?

Unfortunately not Jim. I know what it looks like and will search for one as time goes on.
