Buster BeckHAMILTON WRIST WATCH MILITARY??
Hey, I usually stay over on the pocket watch side, but its a little slow

Did the Hamilton 747 movement have military applications

I gather it was a late 40's to a mid 50's movement and I wonder if any were used in our military

I was thinking they were all just hour/minute/seconds bit with no hack features.

Thanks

regards,
bb

Tom BrownI know next to nothing about wrist watches but looking around the web it seems the grade 747 was used from about 1946-1955. The other examples I found are also marked USMC & then the OF number. Other sites list them as military movements & non hacking.
The Training Manual 9-1575 doesn't list that watch but the markings OF were for 15-17 jewel wrist watches in water proof cases.

Buster BeckThanks for the info and help Tom

I find it strange that they were issued for what they are, a basic timepiece

A very interesting watch non the less.
