Ernest, Is your watch a hackset? Generally, the military watches with a white dial are not hack set. That's why I ask--looking for that exception. Also, I've never seen a grade 747 with a hackset.

A primo item - thanks for the post. USMC marked watches are not common, not as easy to find as the various U.S. Army wristwatches of the WWII/Korean war era. P.S., can we also see an image of the back?

Thank you for the image of the caseback. It's interesting to see that the U.S.M.C. used the same "OF" issue number prefix code on this watch as the U.S. Army used. "OF" was the code for a 15 to 17 jewel movement in a waterproof case.
