Very cool item Greg! As a beginning in narrowing it down, the Ansonia Clock Company was sold along with the Hampden Watch Company in a 1928 package deal. Those companies went to a holding company called Amtorg in the Soviet Union to establish watch and clock making operations there. Some early clocks of this design were intended for the glove-box door. To wind them the user opened the glove-box door and of course the time was viewed from the front when closed.

Thank you Lindell. Pre-1928 does narrow it down. Best regards, Greg

Greg, Tran's Ansonia book shows this to be a 1917 model. Tom
