I have a vienna regulator with the following inscribed on a metal plate above the dial:

GYFLWYNEDIG IR PARCH W W Mrs MORGAN GAN EGLWYS A CHYNULLEIDFA BETHANIA CAPELY BEDYDDWYR BLAENGARWARYRACHLYSUR DI PRIDDAS

AUST 1891

Can anyone help with the translation of the above

Thanks, Curly

Curly,
You've got my curiosity up. I hope someone out there can translate. Is that a 1, 2, or 3 weight? I know that has nothing to do with the translation, but just being curious.

Tom, This is a two weight, I haven't had it apart yet to see the movement maker. I also posted this on the green board and had a reply that the inscription said that it was "presented in respect to Mrs. Morgan by the congregation bethania baptist chapel and the last words were a location." If I can get my camera to take a decent picture, I will post it.

Hi Curly, My guess is It's from Wales, and the inscription is in the Welsh language which has made a remarkable resurgence in the last 20-30 years. Regards, Ged.
