Kern Midget running slow
Hello, first post.
I am working on a Kern Midget. I went to the Horolover book for the spring size. I found it on Page 84, Plate 1217C. It calls for a .0020" (.051MM) spring.
I have it set up with that spring, and it runs very fast. The pendulum has a very short adjustment, which was all the way up to try to make it run faster. It lost more than an hour in about 4 hours.
Does anyone know if that information is in error and what size spring I should use?
Thanks for any advice. Danny

fast

I meant to say slow here, the clock is running slow.

I think I am going to shorten the spring. I see that the bottom cup is adjustable in height. Thanks, Danny

As I was shorting the spring, I realized that is not how a torsion clock works. I'm going to try a thicker spring. Thanks, Danny

I was unknowingly using my 7th edition copy of the Horolovar. The info on that plate is incorrect. As found in my 10th edition, it's the .0023" spring and Unit 12E.
That is all. Danny
