Shelia,
Gallet is made by the Gallet group, in limited production. They started as goldsmiths in 1742.
Galllet group is now a holding company. I HAVE ONE,LOL

Shelia,
No big deal in fact Gallet did belong to racine for awhile.I guess it depends on when you start looking for anyone, LOL Before I bought this little devil I searched around quite a bit for Gallet info.

In fact, the hyper link I gave you you is fairly new, so they must be about ready to start something larger. Here is a better hyperlink which tells even a better story

Gallet History.
The last of the story is toward the bottom of the page. A lot of adoptions went on in the 70-90's

The same sort of thing for the Sandoz issue like and "Who are these People"? It depends on who you talk too, LOL

Pretty nice looking watch huh?

Oh and I also found this one under Gallet (NYC)too.

Patriot April 16, 1889

I also found that there were 2 Gallet's

1. Gallet, Julien & Co. NYC
2. Galett, Leon., La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland

The last one is a trademark and it looks like a musical instrument with a G next to it.

You have given me a lot to list in my names of watches! Thank you. Before long I'm going to have to start a new book with all that I have added lately. But I do Love it!

OOPS This is for the Langendorf Watch Co. I was doing 2 Companies at a time, sorry.

I have wondered about this company for a long time and never could find anything.

Until Now!

It's a name listed under

American-Swiss Watch Co.
New York (out of business)

in a 1915 Trademark Book.

The book shows the same trademark as the one you posted, along with other trademarks including an Owl with a Pocket watch in it's beak, similar to Adolphe Schneider - Max Freund & Co New york. (not the same co) just similar.

It's Swiss.

Will try to find some of the others too.

There are 3 listings for the Nicolet as named items for the Bayer Pretzfelder & Mills, Inc. NYC. However the name is also a Comany, and Info follows below.
