Sam HansenMt. Vernon Watch Co?
Can anyone advise me the maker of this watch? I have been told that it could be a Hamilton or Illinois. Or was there a watch company by this name?
Many thanks!

Sam HansenHi Lindell,
I could not find a serial number on the movement either. I believe most American made watches had serial numbers. I may have to take the dial off but hoping someone will save me the task.

Julian J. SmithHello,
In 1950 the Mt. Vernon Watch Co. was at
15 W.37th St New York NY
'Norwood' was a model of theirs. They also had 'Crestwood','Fleetwood'and 'Mt.Vernon'.
The movement looks ,to me, like some of the old Benrus watches they made in the U.S. before WWII.
Hope this helps.
