Noticed on Hamilton Sherwood/Seneca the backof two watches. One said 14k gold and another said 14k solid gold. Is there a difference? Thanks.

Mark i belive they would be the same.

14k solid gold is seen quite often in auctions on ebay ,14k is 14 parts gold and 10 parts metal alloy.solid gold is 24k.and too soft for watch cases and rings etc. although some of the early european pocket watch cases were made of 22k. gold.
