What is the 3 digit code near/under the regulator? Many 800 series are the high quality Rolex/Gruen/Aegler movements mid-1920's through 1937 used in solid gold cases, amongst others.

Melvin, could be a Gruen caliber 168, 6 3/4 x 11 movement. Take off the balance bridge, should be a three digit number under it. I am working on a Gruen ladies caliber 676 which is actually a ETA 651. Marked ETA under the dial on the plate, I was surprised.
