There seem to be a number of different case styles of watches purported to be Hamilton Seckrons. Which is the correct case style (or was there more than one)? ![]()

The watch I have called "style 1" has a longitudinal ridge on the sides. The ridge merges with, and continues into, the lugs. In contrast "style 2" has a parallelogram-shaped flange on the sides, that is raised from the surface throughout its length. The back of the style 2 case has notches cut from the corners, while in style 1 the back is rectangular. I own two Seckrons, both in style 1 - but are they authentic? Thanks, James

Both versions are correct. The one you own and are calling Style 1 is actually the second version of the Seckron... it came out around 1940 to replace the version below. The version with the stepped case sides which you call Style 2 is the first version of the watch, and came out in 1935.

Bryan, thank you very much. Are there other examples of Hamilton watches 'changing shape', as opposed to reuse of the same name (e.g. Sherwood)?
