I know this is a question that has been asked before ,,but should i have this dial redone...I have been restoring this watch and is one i will keep..(i like this one))..I carried this a couple of days this weekend and it is a great timekeeper..

So what do you think should i leave the dial as it is or get it redone..

the movement and case are in good condition and would like for the dial to be better than it is..

In my opinion, Just do it. A dial restoration on this one would be really sharp.

Samie,
I agree with Scott, just do it. I'd ask Rich Kuhn for advice on where to send it to in order to get a refinishing company which can do this level of detail. Don't be surprised the dial refinishing may cost you about $80.00 or so.

dave,
I would talk to Eagle Dial in Phila. They did a Tissot for me which came out great.

I would suggest international dial. They recently did a few for me. I had a Lord Elgin Tank dial that was a wreck. It was even missing the 11. They replaced it and did it over beautifully for only $31.

Rob Miller of International Dial Incorporated of Wilmington Ohio does a marvelous job with Hamilton Dials, and many, many other dials. I visited their store/studio, and Rob offered me a wonderful, very informative tour of what goes on there. Approximately 125 dials a day are completed. He has a team of long time employees who really know what they are doing, and are artists/craftsmen and women. On the rare occasion when I was unsatisfied with the look of the completed dial, Rob graciously took it back, and redialed the redial.
