A Very Basic Elgin Question ......... "Click" to Login or Register

Folks:

Would someone please be kind enough to tell me the meaning of the STAR and the "CP" on Elgin dials, and when they were used.

I am assuming that they are part of the logo, but do they signify anything else.

Thanks.

Welcome aboard Martin! You're not the first newcomer to ask that question. That's actually a dp monogram, which signifies Elgin's DuraPower mainspring, and the star represents Elgin's "timed by the stars" motto.

Here's a prior topic that goes into a lot more detail:

Most questions that will occur to you have been asked before, so the best thing to do is to search the forums and then only post a new question if you can't find a satisfactory answer.

Best Regards,

Ed
