I believe the late Bill Meggers who wrote the Illinois book published by Ehrhardt invented the names & numbers for the patterns we use. Perhaps some one has posted a sample of each pattern in the past in one post. Usually what I do when I am trying to figure out what a certain pattern looks like I search that pattern name here at IHC to look at the different examples. Not sure if my answer was any help.
