David AbbeThe first Bunn is a Model 6 marked with 5 position adjustments was one of 3200 and while it has a higher serial number than the second one, it was made in 1905, about a year earlier than the 6 position variant with the lower serial numnber.
The second Bunn is a Model 6 marked with 6 position adjustments was one of 2300 made that was not specifically recorded with a finish date. This S/N was presumed to be delivered between 1906 and 1908. When completed with the Gooseneck regulator spring, etc., it should show well.
The most puzzling thing is WHY Illinois decided to make these VERY SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT sub-groupings of movements in parallel production lots.

Jon HartTony -
Nice looking set of 18s Bunns
We should get a thread going with just all the different 18s (HC/OF, 17j, 19, 21, 23, etc..) bunns that members within the IHC own.
The
nice gothic dials that go with the 21j and higher movements, seem to cost as much as the running movement itself (problem I keep running into).
Are you planning to case them? Dials?

Lorne WasylishenThe dial is a bit early for the movement. I was told the transition to Arabic dials began around 1905(Thanks Buster) so given the timeframe it is certainly possible that the customer ordered this dial when he bought this movement.

Lorne WasylishenThat's a mighty purdy plate Buster, and I understand why you like the Gothic font on the dial. My watch above, you have seen before.

Jon HartQuestion:
Looking for the book value of a "Tu-Tone 21j 18s IL Bunn Hunter" - movement stamped just "adjusted"
There is a tu-tone value in the book, but it doesn't have "HC" behind it.
I might need some new reading glasses because I cannot find it for the life of me in the fat book.
Anyone got better eyes?
