my sligh grandfather clock with a hermle movement is out of sync. when the chimes go off it is about 4 minutes after the hour. what can i do to correct this. thanks paul | |||

Paul, The minute hand on your clock should have a brass bushing in the center. Remove the nut on the hand shaft and pull the minute hand off of the clock. The bushing has a square hole to fit the hand shaft. The hand orientation can be adjusted by placing something square in the hole to secure the bushing, then rotating the hand. I have a screwdriver shaft that I have tapered (on a grinder) to fit most square holes. The final adjustment (maybe a degree or so) can be made by bending the hand slightly. Best of Luck, Dick | ||||
