Jack DavisElgin 17s
As long as we are posting up Elgins I thought I would pass this one along. It's not pretty like Tom's but I have always been curious about these 17s watches.
The stories I have heard was that they were intended for the English market but I have never been able to verify that. This is a T.M. Avery, Grade 59, 7j. They were manufactured in 1875 and 1876.

Aaron BereiterI have also heard that they were for the English market. The cases for these are few and far between. I have one marked Leader in a beat case. Do you have a case for this one?

Jack DavisAaron,
I do not have a case for this one. They are hard to come by. I also have a Leader in a somewhat beat up case missing the bow.
