Also in the 1881 census for District 8, Chester le Street Durham England;
Front Street George E. Steele 59 born about 1822 watchmaker employs 2 females & 2 male apprentices born in Chester Le Street.

he lived with his wife Sarah, daughter Isabella 20 assistant of watchmaker, daughter Sarah K. 19, daughter Annie J. 17 assistant of watchmaker, son George W. 16 watchmaker apprentice, daughter Emma M. 12 scholar.

One more, apparently Loomes dates are off, but I think that is often the case since more records are available now than then.

George is listed in the 1841 census of Houghton Le Spring Durham England as 20 & a watchmaker, he apparently was single at the time.
