A set of 6 Oilers included different size tips - apparantly used to control the amount of oil used. Are there any guide lines/documents that describe what size oiler should be used for each pivot in a pocket watch? Thanks for any information.

Wayne,

I use a four color set. The blue size for the majority of my pivot oiling. The black (smallest?) for oiling a couple of the foot bottoms on the escape wheel and some balance jewels. The green for most winding and setting parts.

Anyone else who uses manual oilers please respond with what sizes you use and for what part of the watch. It's something I've never really studied but should.
