Number 2, here is a 121 south bend 0s in a opera style case. I have a little work to do on this one so its been in a drawer for a few months. one of these days i'll work on it and put it away.
Number 3 here is a second 121 south bend. it is housed in a 14k case.
Here is the dial side of the 121. I also have another 121 in the mail to me that is only 5 serial numbers away from this one. it leads me to think there may have been a few small runs inside the 120 runs, not just random inside the 120 runs as I once thought. I'll will report more on the 121's as I collect more data on them.
here is a 329 "The Studebaker". although not running, i'm hoping someday to bring this one back to life. I'm missing the pallet fork only if someone has one laying around (Ha! Like that would happen!)
Here is a 327 South Bend. I will be restoring this one. The movement is running, but will need a better diala nd case, plus a good cleaning.
and to add to the list of south bends, here is a scarce Time lock movement. This would be the first pattern of them. Notice the serial number does not match south bend's standard serial numbers.
Here is a second pattern South bend Time Lock movement. Again the serial numbers do not match standard runs for a model 2 south bend. These are the only two patterns I'm aware of, but there may have been more... If I remember right OB Frye had an article that talked about the time lock movements with a couple pictures, but thats the only other place I have seen any of them.

I only have two South Bend pocket watches, both solid gold 431s, South Bend's publicly available top 12-size model. Rather than post multiple messages with one-photo each, as an experiment, I'll just post one composite photo.

I'd definitely recommend a COA, as that regulator is pushed hard over to the fast side of the register. That usually indicates the oil is probably thick or non-existent, causing the watch to run slow....so it was adjusted over faster and faster to compensate. Running dry can damage the parts, so definitely something to address when you're working on the dial change out. VERY nice looking watch, by the way! Regard! Mark

Thank you, I will look into getting it cleaned. I would like to think it had been cleaned when I had the watch serviced and repaired to get running. That person was well regarded locally but it was a few years ago. Should it be adjusted so that it’s in the middle, as a rule? Or do different movements have different “normal” setting points when they operate? Leo
