17J South Bend Grade 217 question "Click" to Login or Register

I have a question about the 16s 17J LS 3-position gr. 217.I have an earlier fully marked one (by that I mean it has the "safety pinion" marking).Would anyone know about when these 217's went out of production? I am probably wrong, but I think they may have been dropped out of the lineup long before South Bend went under. These are a nice street railway watch, they seem kind of overlooked, some may even have been grandfathered into railroad service....Thanks! Ted.

Last run I have found was from 1920, 1000 pieces.

Serials range 930001-931000.
And you are right, they are nice watches, looks more like 227.

Thanks Rafal, they are a pretty nice bridge model S.B.I like the round-arm train wheels.Like all the higher grade South Bends, they are good-running accurate watches.Regards, Ted.
