Hi All

Does anyone have any tricks to remove a detent stem. I have loosened the screw that holds the detent stem in place and the stem will not pull out. I am posting a picture of the movement it is an early Hamilton 16 size 17jewel hunter movement. Thanks for any help.

Regards
Keith

I don't know if this is could be your problem, but I have seen these movements put in cases that you don't use the detent stem removal. The case is a normal case with a sleeve & the movement comes out like a non-detent.

Got it removed... The trick is to remove the cap screw over the screw that hold the stem. Yes what you see flush with the plate is a cap screw. Just remove it and under it is the screw to loosen the stem. Simple!!!
