Donald NicolaiStuck front cover - successful removal!
Hello all,
I have a B&B 16S front cover that I cannot unscrew. I have applied penetrating oil and after
a day tried again, but no luck. Not sure what to do next without harming the bezel or crystal.
Any suggestions anyone ??
Thanks,
Don

Brian C.Try using a rubber jar lid remover. They also have a rubber cup shape thing, that's made for removing bezels and case backs.

Donald NicolaiHi Brian,
I tried the rubber cup, (no luck). I'll look for a jar lid remover.
Thanks for the response.

Lorne WasylishenDonald, when all else fails you could try this.
Stuck Bezel RemovalI have since discovered that drilling holes is not required, if you can get it to adhere to a small piece of plywood for some grip it should work.
You may want to clean the penetrating oil off as much as possible first.

Donald NicolaiHi Lorne,
What type of glue is best to use, and what do you use to remove the glue from the crystal afterward.
Thanks for responding,
Don

Lorne WasylishenElectric hot glue gun and remove with lacquer thinner(acetone).
The thinner certainly doesn't just dissolve the glue instantly, takes a few min. to migrate but a little wiggling will encourage it and as Thomas said the glue will peel off.
If the crystal gets stuck just watch closely and you can see the thinner work it's way thru.

Donald NicolaiBrian, Lorne, Tom,
Thanks for the help in getting the cover off. The glue gun trick worked great. I was able to peel the glue off the crystal after popping off the piece of wood.
Thank you every body,
Don
