992b safety table question "Click" to Login or Register

I know nothing about watch repair. Is the safety table involved when a balance staff is replaced? My watch was missing a safety table, the result was over-banking.
Thanks.

Hi George,

Yes, the roller and safety table both have to be removed to replace the balance staff and without a safety table overbanking will very likely occur. A properly adjusted safety table will prevent this problem.

Thanks Rob, you found the problem and fixed the watch. Very quickly and reasonably too I might add. My only beef? The watch is two seconds off in the last week while in my pocket. Thought these things were supposed to be accurate!
