I have a size 10 Elgin model 4 KWKS watch. The center wheel pinion has the setting square fixed on one end. What is visible is a steel square with a small flange against the plate. How does one remove this setting square? I have several of the best repair books but I can't find this question answered in any of them. Thanks in advance! John

John, that center wheel staff is pressed on. What I do after removing the cannon pinion is give the staff a light tap with a brass hammer, and the shaft should pull right out.

Thanks very much. That worked perfectly!
