What is the correct way to let down a mainspring on a full plate elgin movement. I know how to do the three quarter but this is a different set up. Thanks again. Kevin "Veritas" West IHC Member 261 Chapter 111,Ottawa NAWCC Member 158976, Nepean, Canada

Kevin, There should be a small hole on the side of the movement you can put a probe into to engage the click. This should release the click and allow you to let down the mainspring with a bench key. it is a lot easier to spot with the dial removed. Aaron

Thanks Aaron, i found the hole, i never noticed this hole before. It worked well i used a bench key like you suggested. ![]() ![]() Kevin "Veritas" West IHC Member 261 Chapter 111,Ottawa NAWCC Member 158976, Nepean, Canada
