Tony,
You will need to measure the staffs to see if you have large or small waists. e-mail me, I may be able to help.

Brian...when you indicate "waists"....is that the area that fits through the balance arm...or...the hairspring collet?

Tony,
I believe that was Waltham's way of saying, long hub, short hub. Which is the length of the hub, the meat of the staff.

Ahh...I see....problem...both of these movements are without their "complete balance"....I was hoping for factory part #s for both balance staffs so I have at least the correct balance staffs to begin my search for the parts needed to put something together.

Tony,
The Waltham book lists #986 large waist and 987 small waist as the staffs.
