marshall/moseley jeweling attachement "Click" to Login or Register

Question for those of you familiar with the moseley/marshall staking tool -

Can the jeweling attachement be removed from the staking tool when you're not using it? How does it attach to the frame?

Thanks,
David

David,
Assuming that your Marshall is similar to mine, here is how to remoce the friction jeweling section:
1. Loosen the set screw for the height adjuster.
2. Unscrew the height adjuster all the way and remove it.
3. Looking inside the threaded hole, you will see the slotted end of a screw that holds the jeweling section to the staking set base.
4. Loosen the screw and the jeweling section will easily remove from the frame.
5. Replace the height adjuster back into the jeweling section and retighten the set screw so you don't lose them!

FWIW, I never remove mine from the frame, I just flip the long lever back out of the way when I don't need it. However it does tend to loosen over time, so I periodicaly have to tighten the screw inside the height adjuster.
