the canon pinion on my 1944 waltham model 16-A
has become loose, this has a partially open collar
Is there anyway to safely tighten this pinion with a stake and the special stump??

Than You,Mark

There are many tools that will put a slight impression normally in the center of the pinion, just make sure you also insert something inside before crimping, I use a reamer that prevent it being crushed or overly indented.

Thank you for your sage advice Chris, I wasn't sure
where exactly to put the indentation.
