I seen this on a logging you tube video and it gave me an idea. So I made one from a block of aluminum a lathe head screw. You can use any collet you choose.
You will have to be a bit of a mechanic and know how to use a lathe too.
If you could hold the lathe head in your hand instead of using the entire lathe you could work
a little bit free er and hold things with out using the entire lathe. I have included a picture so you can get ideas also. Its like an adjustable pin vise.
