I'm stuck. ![]() I am working on a small Swiss HC pocket watch which just needs a cleaning. I can't figure out how to remove the barrel wheel so I can take off the bridge. The center of the barrel wheel has a cover with two open circles and a post in the middle. Does this require some special tool to disassemble? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide. The ratchet wheel is what that wheel is called. To remove this wheel the part on to of the ratchet wheel with the two hole in it will unscrew. I have used two screw drivers to do this. I hope this will help

Billy, Thanks for the clarification and your approach to this problem. I am still not clear on how to unscrew the plate with the two holes. Can you explain what you mean by "I have used two screw drivers to do this." I can't get this one to budge. Does it unscrew clockwise or counterclockwise? Thanks, John

If you have the tapered nose wire coiling pliers they work great for these. Ernie
