A friend of mine asked me to look at a pocket watch to see if it can be put back in running order. It has a private label on the dial, "A. Stowell & Company". It has the same label on the watch movement. It needs a new main spring. It has a "T" end on it and is 2.65mm wide. Does anyone know where I would begin to look for a replacement main spring for it? It also could use a new dial face.

John, Can you post a picture of the movement? Then, I can find the correct length spring to go with your 2.65mm ![]()

Ok, we'll see if I can post these images. The serial number's kind of hard to read, 81290.

Heres' what the dial looks like.

what is the thickness (or strength, whichever you prefer) of the spring John? Regards, Bila

I measured it a couple of times and it reads .19-.20mm.

Thinking maybe a South Bend 4374 for a 1st Model might do the trick... And I do have one... 16sz T - End 2.60 - 18 Strength 20.25 inches length
|
That would be great Jon. If you can spare one, can I send you a payment via PayPal?
|
John, Will send you a quick email ![]()
