Stuart, Through 1929 the Hamilton 992 was available to retailers as a movement only, the number would help to narrow that down. Check it here... https://ihc185.infopop.cc/eve/f...254108073/m/21410695 If the movement in question is prior to 1930 and in the absence of other case-screw marks that could conceivably be the original case. But as Joseph pointed out those hands, although nice for a Hunter-Cased movement or a lesser grade, would not be original to a 992 as they originally came with, shall we say. more sensible hands.
