Gene, this watch is a put-together of left-overs. If Hamilton did it or someone else did it, I can't tell. Every part is in roughly the same time period, the case #17, the sig #4 barrel plate and the 950B pillar plate. My gut feeling about this is that it is a tad early for it being a factory job. A search on the serial # comes back with this:
Grade: 950B
Movement Serial Number: S29573 Estimated Production Year: 1963 Run Quantity: 2000 Size: 16s Jewels: 23j Movement Configuration: Openface Movement Finish: Nickel Model: 6 Movement Setting: Lever Plate: Unknown Plate Adjusted: Yes Adjusted to Positions: 6 Railroad Grade: Yes

And of course it is genuine. For those unaware of the "S Prefix" 4992B movements which were assembled on unused 950B pillar plates check this "Find-Or-Search for S Prefix 992B" link. By the way if your number S29573 had been assembled as a 950B it would have been in 1965 production but since the pillar plate was apparently not used it was still around during the post-production clean-up project.

Gene, I'm sure glad that this turned out to be the real thing! The reason for my gut feeling was that the 950B's major production took place in 1965 which would make it unlikely for a 1963 pillar plate to be left over. However, it taught me a lesson too. Don't spill your beans before a thorough investigation is conducted. Many thanks to you and Lindell for clarifying this.
Regards, Krister.
