I just bought a European pocket watch dated 1791 key wind it runs.It states Ln Burken Dublin 9901.
I can not find this Burken in the book. Here is some pictures

Another nice one! Good looking dial + original hands.

On a first glance it fits the given time !

In 'Baillies' *Watchmaker and Clockmaker of the world* I only found a James Burke; Dublin; 1820.( a son?)

If possible please do a picture from the side of the movement showing one of the posts. Are there hallmarks in the inner caseback ?

Could someone link this to the Eurorean section ?

I'am sure 'Sir John' will come up with something !

Thomas John Burke, registered at Dublin in 1784 Quay Lane moved later to Bridge Street; Goldsmith and Jeweler. He died in 1800.

Gerald, here is some side pictures. The watch does not have a case our watch maker told use that the watch should have a pair case.Do you know were we can buy one? Thank you for your info it has been very in lihting.

The hallmarks are

Sterling silver; London assay; year 1797; King George III duty.

The makers mark is badly punched; could be Thomas Ollivant of London reg. 1789

I have no idea where and how to get a matching outer case.
