Hello,
I need help getting info and a value on a ladies silver pocket watch. On the face of the watch is writted Curtis & Horspool, Leicester. There is a lion, an anchor, an X the initials JR inside a diamond and the number 634 stamped on the inside.
I have some great pics of this watch, but I am having trouble loading them. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Vickie Leatherwood

You can thank our resident Mac magician The Amazing Lindell V. Riddle !! I forwarded your large photos to him,he re-sized them and sent them back to me,and I uploaded them to your listing. The company are a highly regarded manufacturer and retailer of watches clocks and jewellery. I personally think the watch is worth between $175-$250 but there are more knowledgeable people than me and we shall see what they say when they weigh in on the discussion, regards,Tom

#4 Faire Brothers Limited Company History

Originally founded in 1855 by the Faire brothers, the company was incorporated in 1900.

In 1941, the directors and workforce of Faire Bros & Co Ltd donated a Spitfire Aircraft to the Royal Air Force.

In 1967 the company was acquired by Phipps & Son Ltd and the merchanting side was transferred to that company. Faire Bros & Co Ltd continued as manufacturers.

In 1988, the 'Phipps Group' completed a reverse takover of a fully quoted company Headlam, Simms and Coggins which became the Headlam Group plc.

In 1992, a combined management buy in / buyout of Faire Bros & Co Ltd from Headlam Group plc was completed.

Nice looking watch.

I am away from all my reference material but I think it is possible Annie Forth might be Annie M. Forth born about 1858 Leicestershire, she was living there in 1901 & was listed as hosiery card winder. Looking at Faire Brothers LTD it appears that might have employed someone in that position
