I promised Joseph Boone I'd post a few pics of the watch I picked up from him in the mart recently when I'd cleaned it up, so here they are...

Luckily the watch only had a couple of minor issues - one of the setting cams had a notch worn in it making setting difficult, and the hairspring was scraping the arms of the balance.

The setting mechanism was a doddle as it just needed a bit of a polish up, but I had several goes at the hairspring before I got it working reasonably well. A few days of walking away in frustration - I know how Francesco and others feel.

Anyway, the timing machine trace looked like a blizzard before cleaning and fixing, now it's settling down to a drunken dog sled ride. For now I'm going to quit while I'm ahead! Seems to be keeping good time with a good balance swing, and I'll see how it settles down over the next few days.

Regards
