I wonder how many of those watches were actually sold at that price?

$500 of 1912 dollars would be worth: $11,904.76 in 2012

I have been lucky enough to see two of these in person. When I lived in Michigan a friend down the street was a watch collector and had two of these, and at the time told me that one was different than the other but either one was a beautiful watch, they are even more awesome in person.
