I am working on a English fusee pocket watch with a broken mainspring. The mainspring measures out to be 3.60mm wide X .365mm thick X 18.5 inches in length.

I have never had to replace one of these before & I am looking for suggestions on where & what I might use as a replacement.

Thanks

Tom

Tom

I have found a 3.6 high by .19 thick by 800 long or a 3.00 high by .26 thick by quite long but wrapped up. You are welcome to them if you don't find anything better.

I suspect that the 0.19 thick might be too thin though but you are welcome to try it.

Thanks for the offer Clive, I actually took a Waltham 3.30 x .16 & cut it down in length, it was the largest I had on hand. I put it in this weekend & am giving it a try to see how it runs.

If it doesn't work I will take you up on your kind offer.
