Here is a nice Ball Hamilton 998 Elinvar. I bought & traded for this from a very dear friend. It is circa 1940 in the Ball YGF Stirrup Bow shouldered Pattern Back case. Mvmt# B649303, Case# 9735651. Today there are an estimated 250-270 survivors worldwide. There is no personalizations nor presentations. Worn little and as said, just a nice watch. Very nice Buster, these Ball 16-size premium watches with their high shouldered cases are real standouts in any collection. Several years ago I asked the obvious about the "998-ELINVAR, WERE THEY THE BEST BALL OF ALL?" Your example helps answer that question in the affirmative. The one shown in that topic was sold a few years ago, the one I kept is movement B652447 and 9829739 is my case number. I find it fascinating how the numbers drop into place so neatly. Lindell  | |||
