This is one of very few examples of complete Ball-Hamilton "Brotherhood of Locomotive Firemen & Enginemen" with appropriate matching dial that we are aware of at this time. All the 21-Jewel Ball-Hamilton Brotherhoods are rare and this one from 1908 is among the most difficult to find. The example shown below is from the Larry Buchan collection. By this time sales were slowing for 18-size watches in general and these Brotherhoods with their premium prices attached were evidently not an easy sale. For example, this particular movement was produced in 1910 but did not leave the vault at Hamilton for four years, finally making a 1914 journey to the Ball Watch facility in Cleveland, Ohio.
