The Lone Ranger and Tonto were camping in the desert. They set up their tent and soon were fast asleep. After a few hours, the Lone Ranger woke his wise and faithful companion, and said:

"Tonto, look up and tell me what you see."

Tonto replied: "Me see millions and millions of stars, Kimosabe."

"What does that tell you," asked the Lone Ranger?

Tonto contemplated the possibilities for a moment, then said:

"Astronomically, it tells me there are millions of galaxies and potentially billions of planets. Astrologically it tells me that Saturn is in Leo. Theologically, it's evident that God is all-powerful, and we are small and insignificant. Meteorologically, it seems we will have a beautiful day tomorrow. Chronologically, it appears to be approximately a quarter past three. What does it tell you Kimosabe?"

The Lone Ranger remained silent for a moment, then replied:

"Tonto, you're an *****. Someone has stolen our tent!"

That's a great story Steve!

It reminds me of a somewhat different approach to the positive-negative aspects of the night sky and a one-line lesson in objectivity...

Two men looked out through prison bars, one saw mud, the other saw the stars.

The credit for that line goes to Dale Carnegie who through his books and the courses that still bear his name has changed the course of many lives thereby making the world a better, more civil place.

Best Wishes,

Lindell

Steve,

I heard the same story told with Sherlock Holmes and Watson, instead of The Lone Ranger and Tonto.

I don't think there is any moral with this one.
A woman was walking her two dogs when she was bumped into by a young man passing by. He excused himself, looked down at her two dogs and asked their names. She said "Their names are Timex and Rolex." Then he asked " what kind of dogs are they?" She said "watch dogs of course".
