I have been looking for a decent case to house a 'plain Jane' Bunn Special, as the threads on my case just do not work without a lot of frustration.

I ran across the case in the scan below, which appears to be a generic type, and was wondering if my Bunn would slip into it without any problems. I realize that this is not the correct case for this movement but I need something that works for now, as I often forget to keep the Bunn running inbetween wearing it.

Any advice would be appreciated,

This version JBoss would have been for use in the early 20's and are very nice cases. This one would be a new/replacement case since it is double cut for lever sets where the OEM case would only have a single cut. Star also made a version this is a near twin. On your other case sometimes if you get a toothbrush and some silver polish like Wright's or comparable and clean the case and threads that will get a lot of gunk out that cause problems getting the back/bezel to re-thread.

After cleaning I will also wipe the threads on the ring with a light oil, when you clean the threads also do the ones on the bezel and back, you will be surprised at the amount of dirt, gunk, and such that will be left on your cleaning rag and toothbrush.

If you Bunn is not one that would normally have been factory cased then there is no reason that when the person bought the Bunn he could have also bought a case like the JBoss to put it in.

Thanks for that but the threads in my case are more than 'gunk' loaded, they are actually stripped in places and cut from forcing, as the former owner(s) were probably non-watch people.

Marty that case is just fine but I wonder if your case has threads that could be recut? I have some dental tools that a friend gave me and they are good for cleaning the threads. I use a Q tip and light oil after I clean them and sometimes beeswax.

Trust me, the threads on my case are beyond repair on the backside, so need to get something better. Anyway, my case is not the proper case for the watch.
