I picked up a sidewinder private label grade 941. It is a private label (W C Fisher) from Lorain Ohio and the movement looks to be in good condition but the case is at best a wear OF case and has brassing so I will case it back into a hunter case. I don't think there were a bunch of 941's made and it makes a good match for my 940, I thought 165 was not a bad price since it is a private label. I will post some pictures when it arrives and also if you guys see any private label watches from Ohio or Tenn that do not interest you please drop me jingle so I can check them out. Maybe while I wait for the watch to show up I can get Tom to do some of his super sleuth work, I can't find much on Mr Fisher but it appears that he was a jeweler probably in to the late 30's or 40's since there was an ebay auction for a watch box that had his name on it.

Well it arrived today and I will post pictures later. It runs, balance has good motion and no wobble that I can see but should get a COA anyway. I do have one question on the barrel plate one of the hold down screws is beveled top, and one is flat top with chamfer and one case screw is a clipped bevel top and the other is a flat top with chamfer. I tend to think the barrel plate should ahve flat top screws with chamfer and if that is the case typically is the case screw and the barrel plate screw the same size and length? If they are then I will swap the locations and make it look more correct, but the other two plate screws are bevel top so that casts some doubt on the flat top screws being correct for the barrel plate. From some photos that Jon and Dave posted on the 941, bevel top all around is correct, it appears they clipped the barrel plate screw and used it for a case screw and used the case screw for the barrel plate.
