Hi Peter according to the Waltham serial number look up site it is a model 1924 grade 221 size 3/0 with 21 jewels.

Peter, my data says the following for sn-29391730:

Mdl 1924, grade 221,Size 3, 21 jewel, open face....futher more yours was made in a run of 5000 and was the 5th. run of 9 runs made....a total of 38125 units were made....

There is no dates listed as to when these runs were started or ended....

it looks like size 12 to me.
and have Colonial Riverside name on it

Hi Peter,

Your are right by saying it looks like a size 12, I have four of these watches,some ar marked Colonial A & Colonial Riverside, the database is incorrect, they are definately size 12. Also, they do not fit into a normal size 12 case, if memory serves me correctly they are slightly larger by a millimeter.

The database I am talking about is the one Harry mentioned in his early post, the "Waltham Serial Look-up" site, if you tpye this into Google it will be the search link first or second down on the page. Please be aware that there is possible descrepenciesin in the information as you have found with this watch. We must remember that these databases take up an enormous amount of time to set-up and mistakes do get made.

There is also an Elgin serial number data base right above the Waltham serial data base in the Tech department.
