Another watch crystal question "Click" to Login or Register

After a bit of reaserch I have come to the conclusion that there are various sized watch crystals that are hard to get. I believe open faced ones in the range 19.3 and 19.4 as well as 20.1, 20.2, 20.3 and 20.4 are the ones everyone is looking for. Is this the same for hunting case crystals or is there a different size range that is hard to get. Has anyone explored the possability of getting some made somewhere if that is still an option? They still make watches and clocks so someone somewhere must make crystals for them.

For hunters, it seems like the mid-18 range is getting a bit difficult. I am sold out of 18.6, 18.7 and 18.8 hunters again.

I have seen someone on eBay advertising 19.4s that they are supposedly having made. I believe the price was $50 each.

Hi Steve,
I see Dave answered while I was typing
You can still get a few of these crystals getting harder all the time S18, S16 16 HC & 12S OF & HC
you can buy the exact size you want they are not cheap, so people still try and buy boxes off ebay hoping for a lucky find!. I was looking into having say 500-1000 made in the most desirable sizes to get a good price but decided it would be to much stock & money to have tied up maybe oneday

Thanks both, I am currently going through about 1000 crystals to see what I have got and wanted to know what to look out for. I am putting labels on all the unmarked ones so I will only have to do this once. I am using the metric sizes cause I find it easier. I appear to have a lot of crystals in the low 400 sizes. Many of hunter crystal as well but I will do them last. Thanks for the help.

Perhaps a bunch of us could pool our resources to make up a big enough order to get something to happen. I only sell stuff to make room for other stuff so would only need a few of each size for my own requirements but if say 50 people felt the same perhaps we could make something happen and there would be no need for one person to carry the whole order on their own. Any takers?
