"Brother Can You Spare A Dial?"

South Bend 323 (18s/17j) "The Studebaker" #554298

This baby came in a decent hunter case but once I get a dial I will find a good OF case for it.

I could also use a couple of "cornered" screws to get it correct.

Lorne,

Nice looking movement, the dial might be some legwork to find - GLTU Smile

Lorne, you can take the existing flat screws and chamfer the edges on the lathe to match the existing ones. I've had to that with Maiden Lanes.

I think the word "rare" would actually apply to an 18s 24hr. South Bend but I would "step up" as they say on Pickers.

Barring the 24 I will hold out for double sunk script, Monty or otherwise.

I haven't evolved yet to the point of doing that but will se if my guy Ralph can do it for me.

Lorne,

That’s a nice looking movement.

I pulled some screws from an 18 size South Bend parts movement and they’re pictured below. Send me an e-mail if you think the screws will work for you.

Richard Romero, thank you, thank you, thank you! for donating the two proper screws for this watch.

A fleeting honour I admit but you are my new favourite person.
