Mainspring broken

Ok - what is this?

The back portion of the plate that covers the mainspring barrel has this "screw" (in picture below bronze colored plate). This screw head can be seen when movement is complete. The screw can be turned to a "L" or "P".

What is the L and P?

Lever set or pendant set. It can be used either way witht he turn of a screw. Hopes this helps.

This is the first time running across this setup. When I took the mainspring barrel plate off - I was like - Ooppppppppsss...

All good - new spring in and running like a champ.
