Hi All, I have a ca. 1951 BW Raymond Grade 571, Movement Serial # F163529, in a Star 3057 stainless case, Serial # 0352512. I've posted pics of the Monty dial below. As you can see, it has several hairlines and chips, notably at the places adjacent to the dial screws. Can anyone tell me if this is a malamine dial, as opposed to enamel? All thoughts appreciated. Regards, Mike

Michael, It is enamel. You can see on the back of your dial where the second area is cut out. Melamine is typically one piece with a flat black finish on the back of the dial. Enamel also has sharp cuts at the sunk areas of the front of the dial while melamine is more rounded or gradual cuts. Rob www.pocketwatchrepairs.net
