Can someone please tell me if this dial is an appropriate dial for a 1927 Mdl. 992L...?

Your dial appears to be a #436 and I believe it was used on the 992's but I do not have a date for it.

Edward is right, this dial, also known as Heavy Arabic, was used on Gr 992's. The style in your photo with the block letter Hamilton signature started in 1918 and continued thru the end of 992 production in 1930, so it would be correct for your 1927 example.
